Does Our Christian Science Church Really Need Their Own Website?

There is no question Christian Science churches have an identity problem. Have a discussion with a friend. Ask them, “What is Christian Science?” You can just see the floating question mark form over their head. In fact, ask five people in your Christian Science church the same question and you’ll likely get five different answers.

But A Christian Science Website?

One explanation can be found in every Christian Science church: “God Is Love.” Another can be found in John 14:12.”He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father”.

We can let the website of the Mother Church take care of defining Christian Science, but our religion is as beautiful and diverse as the world in which Christian Science branch churches and societies are located. Because of our beauty and diversity, a website for your congregation can help not only your members but your community know just what your church is.

This could be stated on the main page of your church website leaving no one, neither friend or fellow congregant unclear of what our beliefs are.

If you had your own website, you could state right away, “We are a branch church of the First Church of Christ, Scientist in Boston, MA.” You could follow that up with, “All branch churches share a common foundational belief. We’re a Bible-based church that is defined as ‘the law of God, the law of good…’ In Christian Science, God is understood to be infinite Love, and so invariably good that a clear glimpse of this through prayer has the power to heal, redeem, and restore anyone. You’ll understand your relationship to God better through this Science of Christianity. Health is restored and character transformed. We are a church that acknowledges and adores one supreme and infinite God. We acknowledge His Son, one Christ; the Holy Ghost or divine Comforter; and man in God’s image and likeness. All are warmly welcomed to attend our services and events.” This could be stated on the main page of your church website leaving no one, neither friend nor fellow congregant unclear of what our beliefs are.
